this weekend i was back in dublin to see friends and family but i also ended up playing two gigs, one in dublin and one in my hometown greystones. the party in dublin on Friday was the aforementioned warehouse party which was a great sucess. the party took place in a warehouse building near dublin city centre that is currently being used as a space for artists galleries. the party was run by the nightflight guys and hopfully willl be the first of many. it would be great if they could pull of some sort of secret sundaze/mulletover style parties in the future, i think it would be great for dublin clubbing... anyway the party was cool and was still going strong when i left at about 8 am. mark le tough kicked off the party with some nice deep house and techno followed by me, then sian then all of us playing back to back, i think the party wound down to lil dave, mark and funboi aka l.a. gear playing disco and hilarious stuff... on saturday i made my first appearance at a party that mark le tough was putting on in greystones, our seaside hometown in wicklow, it took place in the towns new theatre which was surprisingly cool and had pretty decent sound. it was strange playing to people not necessarily used to house and techno but i found that if you built a groove they went for it. i think if you trust in peoples ears they respond well to good records although admitedly they might need to break down their preconceptions and social hang ups with alcohol or whatever first...
